Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor :A Review

Buy Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Talion, a former ranger of Gonder is killed alongside his family by the evil armies of Sauron. That should be the end of it, but this game says otherwise because out main character who is Talion is revived by a Elven wraith who is also the maker of the Rings of Power. Now the interesting thing is that both have one goal,'Revenge'.

The game has pretty awesome and enticing animations, killing those ugly servants of Sauron with your sword feels great, you also have a choice of going stealth or full out attack. Something like Assassins Creed: Black Flag where you either go stealth or if one of the soldiers ring the alarm bell, then you will have hordes of enemies behind you. The same principle applies here, except its much more easier to get caught. Of course, getting overwhelmed mean the chances of you getting killed increases but that's what leveling up is for, right?

Another aspect of the game I noticed is that even the captains can cheat death and come back to lay their vengeance upon you, of course they may have a scarred face or something. And just like in the movies, they're very confident of victory. If that Uruk captain kills you, then the next time he meets you, not only will he have something to show for it(maybe a promotion or some new armor) but also he taunts you for losing last time and wonders why you have not died yet. That is a totally new thing for me as I have never experienced such a thing before.

The minute things added to the already exciting gameplay  makes the game even more fun and intricate. It brings on a new sense of gameplay into the action, role playing genre. The stabbing animations make the game fun to play and allow you to ease up a bit. The other thing, Monolith introduced into the gameplay is the nemesis system which pretty self-explanatory also ups the ante of the game. Sometimes, the captains will be invulnerable to your sword or arrows which makes it tougher to kill them but in the end, they die. Every victory and every loss matter and the game makes sure that you understand that from the beginning.

As you go deeper into the game, you get control these freaked up minions and make them fight each other. For some reason this reminds so much of those darts in Assassins Creed: Black Flag. Of course you can't control them though in that game. There is a great combat experience along with awesome sound design and mind-controls is just the fantastic aspect of the game. Oh and I forgot to mention, but you also encounter Gollum, so that's fun.

Middleearth: Shadow of Mordor Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Fight through Mordor and uncover the truth of the spirit that compels you, discover the origins of the Rings of Power, build your legend and ultimately confront the evil of Sauron in this new chronicle of Middle–earth.

You also get to interrupt Uruks when they are have duels of just feasting and having fun, its near impossible to win every fight which makes the game much more interesting. They rarely tell the same taunt over and over again, which makes your fights much more memorable By the end of the game, you will wish it had never ended. This game is sure to make millions.

The events take place between the 'The Hobbit'  and 'The Lord of The Rings' written by J.R.R Tolkien , both the books which I love. This game was developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. I am sure this is a game you will love and adore.
